Hailing from a traditional family of educationists and music
lovers, Balasubrahmanyam is armed with two Doctoral Degrees in Music - a
Doctorate for Ph.D., (Music) from the University of Delhi and also
‘Sangeetacharya’, the Doctoral Title from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva
Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Miraj – a Deemed University, he has established
himself as an eminent Musician, Musicologist, Composer and a Guru of
high repute.  Â
He is the Founder-Director of ‘Bhairavi
Sangeeta Academy’ (Centre for Training and Research in Music) at
Hyderabad and is also the Publisher and Chief Editor of “PRANAVAMâ€, a
bilingual quarterly music magazine.

He is presently providing
his services as the ‘Chief Advisor’ for the Software Project –Â
‘GURUSWARA’ (a software for Virtual Practice for Vocal Excellence)
being created and designed by ‘Muzigle’, which is the pioneer in Indian
music education technology whose mission is to enhance and transform the
experience of teaching and learning Indian music.

learnt the art of Carnatic Classical Vocal from Gurus Sri Allam Raju
Someswaram (Kakinada), Pudukkotai Sri R. Krishnamurthy (Tirupati) and
Sri Tampella Suryanarayana (Hyderabad).   He has also undergone special
training in Laya aspects from Vidwan Sri Akella Mallikarjuna Sarma
(Hyderabad).
